Festival Beach Food Forest

The heart of the East Feast 2022 vision is to create Austin's first public food forest in Festival Beach Park. It will be the Festival Beach Food Forest. East Feast 2022 connects diverse neighbors and resources, grows food and community, and celebrates the power of neighbors rooted in our land and our history to create a healthy future for all.  Supported by a network of community resources, we learn and experiment together to create new relationships with each other and our land, water, and wildlife. The East Feast vision has taken root in the hearts and minds of diverse neighbors within and outside the surrounding neighborhoods and has turned into a movement that unites many long‐term neighbors with newer ones, green thumbs with social activists, and more.  At the heart of this movement is a plan to establishAustin’s first public food forestin Festival Beach Park, as a way to protect and enhance the natural beauty, tranquility, and ecological health of the parkland, while also making fresh fruit and vegetables part of the daily experience of neighbors and visitors enjoying the parkland.
