The Taman Petanu Eco Neighborhood is a development that is based on a deep commitment to preserve and enhance Bali’s environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability. The Taman Petanu Eco Neighborhood The Taman Petanu Eco Neighborhood is a beautiful 1.5 Hectare property just 15 minutes south of Ubud, located at Br Sumampan, Desa Kemenuh, Sukawati, Bali.The Taman Petanu Eco Neighborhood community began to form in 2009. It is currently in its first phase of development.The basis of Taman Petanu is a deep commitment to preserve and enhance Bali’s environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability.It is being created to demonstrate a model for sustainable living and community empowerment that upholds the Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which balances our harmony with man, nature, and God or Universal Energy.Within the 1.5 hectare property, approximately 80% of the total area is allocated for private plots, and 20% forcommonly used shared facilities. Green belts are included within the common areas and private plots.The neighborhood includes 16 self contained private plots, which are supported by a range of common access facilities including: centralized waste and wastewater treatment, Permaculture landscaping, pool, playground, barbecue & gathering area, amphitheater and pavilion for workshops and events. All of the initiators of the project have personally committed to joining the neighborhood, and are also committed to seeing the project through to fruition. Most of theneighborhood’smembershave backgrounds in various aspects of environmental sustainability, development work, social outreach and community education. Through their guidance a viable model for sustainable living on Bali has emerged and will continue to be developed throughout the project’s development. There are still opportunities for families and individuals to  become involved.
