/// OPERATIVE NOTES ///

A collective project of permaculture families in southern Brazil, in the municipality of São Pedro de Alcântara SC. In an area of 87 hectares of Atlantic forest, the construction of this project is proposed. Yvy Porã was born in 2003, as a project collective located in an area of 82 hectares, much of it in the Atlantic forest. Within this collective, each family has a private area, its zone 1 and 2. The Casa da Montanha project is the construction of this space in a of these families. In 2006, permaculturists Jorge Timmermanne Suzana Maringoni began construction of zone zero - meaning the house. The basic design already it was done, many trees planted in zone 2 close to the house, but they felt it was time to go further, to begin the construction that would allow me to be in Yvy more. This is an important point in the project: live more in this permaculture station- station, place to be be! So, with some stones in the way, and many stories to tell, the couple began construction of Casa da Montanha in December 2006. This process can be followed on the Blog, which receives monthly thousands of visits. The focus of the blog is to share the greater amount of information about permaculture, with solutions simple and easily replicable, which lead to sustainability. Another aspect of Casa da Montanha is the fact that it welcomes young people permaculturists and open the space for them to experiment and innovate in this house. Thus, partnerships with these people appear whether in the construction of house, or in the construction of the workshop in the form of a geodesic with techniques modern materials and uses of traditional materials such as bamboo, straw and clay. In this space we also hold offices and courses, in partnership with other members of Yvy Porã, focusing on pedagogical training for permaculture course instructors. su
